ABOUT SWETA GHIMIRE

I'M SWETA GHIMIRE

WELCOME TO MY WORLD

I am a professional artist, mother of two beautiful children and a graduate of Milan Art Institute.

I fell in love with painting and creating in my mid twenties, and what began as a discovery soon became a deep passion. Since then, art has become an important part of who I am — a way for me to explore, express, and connect with the world around me and give form to the emotions, quiet moments, and unseen worlds that live within my imagination.

BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Nepal, Sweta Ghimire discovered her remarkable aptitude for art in her mid twenties, when she began painting as a way to explore her creativity and express herself. What started as a personal creative outlet quickly revealed a natural talent and a deep connection to painting, inspiring her to pursue art with greater purpose. Raised in a country shaped by the majestic Himalayas and rich spiritual traditions, Sweta grew up surrounded by nature, beauty, and spirituality—elements that continue to influence her artistic vision.

Her growing passion eventually led her to make the courageous decision to leave behind a six-figure career and pursue art professionally. She is a graduate of the Mastery Program at Milan Art Institute. Ghimire’s artistic practice reflects her fascination with the quiet power found in nature, spirituality, and the human experience. Her paintings bring together wildlife, marine life, flowers, and serene moments to explore the emotions and stories that exist beneath the surface. Guided by her spiritual connection to Lord Hanuman, her work often carries themes of courage, resilience, wisdom, and hope. Ghimire believes that true strength can exist in gentleness, stillness, and grace. Through her art, she strives to create an atmosphere of calm and positivity, offering viewers a moment to slow down, feel connected, and discover the strength and beauty that already live within them. Ghimire says, “There is a strength in the things we carry quietly.”

Today, Ghimire works from her studio, where she continues to develop her artistic practice and build a growing body of work rooted in nature, spirituality, and quiet strength. Her studio is a space for exploration, experimentation, and thoughtful creation as she continues to grow as a professional artist. In the future, she hopes to expand her presence through exhibitions around the world, collaborate with brands, and explore new creative opportunities while continuing to create meaningful work that connects with people on a deeper level.

MY PROCESS

I begin each piece by sketching the composition with charcoal, graphite pencil, or china marker. Once the sketch is in place, I coat the canvas with gloss medium to create a smooth, luminous surface for the layers that follow.

Before I start painting, I write “Jai Shree Ram” 11 times on every piece. My faith in Hanuman ji is deeply woven into my creative process. There is a belief that where there is Ram, there is the presence of Lord Hanuman, and because of this I feel his presence within my work—representing strength, power, wisdom, and devotion. Beginning each piece with this ritual gives me a sense of intention, connection, and spiritual presence that I carry throughout the creative process.

After this ritual, my painting process begins with washes to establish the overall movement, atmosphere, and foundation of the piece. I then build layers of transparent acrylic glazes—an intentionally messy stage—followed by opaque acrylic paint to develop form, depth, and detail. Once the acrylic stage is complete, I continue layering with transparent oil glazes, working with warm and cool colors to create depth, then finish with opaque oil paint. At times, I also incorporate cold wax to add texture and dimension.

A SACRED PART OF MY PROCESS

The Hanuman Chalisa is often part of my painting process. Its words and rhythm bring a sense of stillness, strength, and devotion into my studio.

As I paint, I often chant the Hanuman Chalisa, allowing its words to ground me in the qualities that inspire my work- strength, wisdom, courage, devotion, and inner peace.

For me, painting is not only about what is visible on the canvas. It is also about what is felt, remembered, and quietly carried within.
